TB-500

About

About TB-500

A synthetic peptide fragment derived from Thymosin Beta-4, this compound functions as an actin-sequestering protein that promotes cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair. Its mechanism involves upregulating cell-building proteins and reducing inflammation at injury sites. Research applications have focused primarily on wound healing, cardiac tissue repair following ischemic injury, and musculoskeletal recovery in preclinical models.

Science

Mechanism of Action

TB-500 sequesters G-actin monomers via its actin-binding domain (LKKTET), reducing free actin availability and promoting F-actin depolymerization. This modulates cell migration, differentiation, and survival. TB-500 also upregulates matrix metalloproteinases, promotes angiogenesis through VEGF receptor signaling, reduces inflammation via downregulation of NF-κB and inflammatory cytokines, and activates stem cell migration to injury sites.

Dosing

Typical Protocol

Loading phase: 2–2.5 mg twice weekly for 4–6 weeks. Maintenance phase: 1–2 mg once weekly for an additional 4–8 weeks. Commonly stacked with BPC-157 for synergistic tissue repair. Administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

⚠ Protocol information is for educational purposes only. Dosing must be determined by a licensed physician based on individual health status and goals.

Regulatory

Legal Status in 2026

Grey Area

This compound occupies a regulatory grey area in 2026. It is neither explicitly FDA-approved nor clearly illegal for personal use, but it lacks formal clinical approval and may not be legally sold for human use in all contexts. Proceed with caution: source quality is variable, and regulatory status can change. Always consult a physician.

Evidence

Evidence Tier

Preclinical

Evidence primarily from animal studies, cell cultures, or small pilot human trials. Results are promising but have not yet been confirmed in large-scale human RCTs. Effects in humans may differ from animal models.
