About Testosterone Cypionate
A synthetic ester of testosterone, testosterone cypionate is an intramuscularly or subcutaneously administered androgen that provides sustained release of the hormone over approximately one to two weeks. It binds to androgen receptors throughout the body, promoting protein synthesis, muscle development, bone density maintenance, and secondary sex characteristics. The compound is primarily used in the treatment of male hypogonadism and as a component of gender-affirming hormone therapy.

Mechanism of Action
Testosterone Cypionate releases testosterone following hydrolysis of the ester bond. Free testosterone binds to the androgen receptor (AR) in target tissues. The testosterone-AR complex translocates to the nucleus and acts as a transcription factor, upregulating genes involved in muscle protein synthesis, red blood cell production (via EPO), libido, bone density, cognitive function, and metabolic rate. Aromatization to estradiol via aromatase provides further benefits including bone protection and cardiovascular health.

Typical Protocol
Standard TRT: 100–200 mg/week administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Can be dosed as a single weekly injection or split twice weekly for more stable levels. Typically combined with: HCG (500–1000 IU/week) to maintain testicular function and fertility; Anastrozole (0.25–0.5 mg twice weekly) if estrogen conversion is symptomatic. Monitoring: Total T, Free T, Estradiol (sensitive assay), Hematocrit, PSA quarterly.
